Syntonic drift
The project explores harmony not as a closed circle, but as a starting point without guaranteed return. The music is built around the gradual accumulation of syntonic commas, allowing pitch to ascend (or descend) subtly over long durations while remaining harmonically grounded. Rather than correcting intonational discrepancies, the system embraces them, treating drift as an expressive force.

The work is based on a custom 17-note tuning system with symmetrical properties around the root and the augmented fourth / diminished fifth axis, enabling fluid navigation between tonal centers while preserving the possibility of return. A bespoke digital playback engine and additive synthesizer - capable of independently tuning and modulating individual partials - integrates with acoustic instruments.

Kristinsson / Heidepriem
The Swiss–Icelandic experimental duo has released two albums of suspense-driven improvised music. The project merges heavily processed electric-guitar drones with acoustic drum elements, unfolding into long, urgent shapes of evolving atmospheric texture. The work builds on a processed guitar sound developed during Kristinn’s previous album Amidst.

Amidst
Recorded over three evening sessions onto a single stereo track and entirely improvised, Amidst reflects the melancholia of returning to one’s hometown - here Reykjavík - after many years abroad. Using heavily processed guitar, Kristinn transforms the raw energy of sustained power chords, filling the sonic spectrum with noise, resonance, and shifting harmonics.
